Most of the negative reviews are correct in that the metal is pretty flimsy/cheap. However, if you're careful not to "touch" your winch (and even if it's in good condition), you can get a few rides on it in an emergency. That's literally the only reason I bought it. That, and the junkyard wanted around $190 for OEM haha.

I bought this for 99 Silverado. I can't speak to every product sold by this company but the one I received was pretty much useless. Tool parts pull apart too easily. I almost lost one of the parts in the access tube. I don't know if the ending was done wrong, or it's just not for my car and the landing was misdescribed, but the tip didn't stick to anything, didn't work. I could not check the replacement part. The tool just spun in place.

people who gave good reviews even used this junk? Automobile. Shouldn't have happened. Complete garbage. If I wasn't on gravel where I could dig under a tire, I'd be stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire. If I had this tool I would strongly recommend welding the part that goes into the bushing to the shaft. so that doesn't happen. At least test the tools before you need them in BFE.

If I had to do it all over again I would scrap the OEM. It's enough to get the jack through, but the ends are too soft to pull the spare tire cable through on my Silverado. I removed the grommet on the truck that goes to the plug so I can see exactly what's going on. I stick the end into a hole in the back of my truck and it pulls the tire almost all the way up, but if it gets to the top before the spare is fully seated on the truck, the end starts to warp and I can't pull the spare…

I've read conflicting reviews so didn't want to drop the replacement part just for it to shatter the metal. I checked it for fit and lowered the shaft a few inches and then raised it again until it clicked. Not sure if it fully raises the spare without spitting out the ends, but the important thing is that it lowers, which is what you need in a pinch until you get a new tire.
