Review on SEDY Thread Repair Helicoil Metric by Luca Washington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked as it should

I needed to repair a stripped thread on a motorcycle engine case that would be expensive to replace. The thread size was M5, the smallest in the kit. No rush, it worked great. The screw has reached the specified torque value. I'm happy and have other sizes if I need them. In that regard, I think this kit is a good investment for repairing threads in aluminum and magnesium alloy motorcycle components. I can't comment on hard materials, you'll be fine as long as you take your time and use cutting/threading oil. The supplied drill should only be used to widen the hole to the correct size for the tap.

Pros
  • Thread Repair Kits
Cons
  • Large and Bulky
