Review on Standard Dry Desiccant with Indication by Cornelius Mosley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

1 liter high quality orange desiccant

I use this in my 24 gun safe to lower humidity, works well, increased humidity from 55 to 43 percent. I had to recharge the beads after a few days. This should slow down once the humidity in the vault stabilizes. If you want to buy beads, you first need a container to put them in. I used a glass jar with the lid off and just the ring to hold a piece of wire over the jar's neck. The top of the balls turned green, but the deeper balls didn't seem to change color and the moisture didn't decrease much. You really want as many beads to be exposed to air as possible. So I had an idea and I cut legs out of my wife's old sheer pantyhose, stuffed beads into them and tied the open end with string so I could remove the string and pour out the beads when I needed them. calculated. This allows me to see the beads as they change color and exposes more beads to the air, which quickly reduces moisture levels compared to a jar. I only charged the beads once but didn't have to bake them for 2 or 3 hours as some have said mine dried out and turned orange again after just an hour at oven speed at 225. These are working great so far, no complaints. The humidity in my safe went down within a day or two after I put them in pantyhose. I don't recommend leaving them in the tube if you plan to bake beads. You can think of a better idea, but whatever you do, it seems important to have as many beads in the air at once as possible rather than all in an open-topped jar. I really have no complaints, they work well, the hardest part is just figuring out how to put the beads in to ensure enough contact with the air.
