The adapter works well when not connected to a USB Type-C power supply. When I plugged in the power adapter to charge my 2018 MBP, the adapter started getting very hot, after a few hours everything connected to this adapter became unresponsive. This adapter seems to have something to do with the MBP, or the MBP cannot handle video output, connected devices, and power delivery over the same USB Type-C. I'll try this from time to time with different devices connected, but right now I'm worried that it might cause permanent damage to my MBP. Update: The seller tried to get me to change my rating in exchange for a refund. I will not buy from them again.
