The fact that other replacement Berkey system filters filter much faster than the original new black Berkey filters may actually mean they do NOT filter as well. Yes, I'll admit there's no science behind it unless I test my water, but you have to admit it makes a compelling argument. Berkey brand filters filter decently fast when new, but these Aquacrest filters are so fast that I'm suspicious of them. if they filter to the same level as the Berkey brand. Maybe I'll test my water. And I will update my review here in the future if Aquacrest branded filters feel worth it. When it comes to filtering, there's a fine line where fast is good, but TOO fast makes you think about filter standards. Additionally, the Aquacrest brand fluoride filters that attach to these black filters are VERY loosely attached compared to the original Black Berkey filters. When I buy both black and fluoride filters from Aquacrest, I expect a good, tight fit, not a weak, loose fit.
