Review on 2-Pack Luxury Soft Cover Dotted Bullet Journal Notebook By Papercode - Grey - 130 Perforated Pages For Maximum Versatility by Amanda Gardner

Could be better good for me

Update: The book covers still smell. But I realized the paper is the same size and color as the paper in my classic size Minimalism Art journals, so I can cut out pages and tip them in with repositionable tape. It's nearly perfect, the dots are just a little dark. Now I have removable pages at the back of my bullet journal. The books I received really smell horrible but the odor has been getting better since I opened them. I believe it's the glue (or coating on the cover or something like that). It doesn't seem like anything spilled on them, is what I mean. The spine is glued but also sewn which is nice. It doesn't lay perfectly flat through the whole book but it's not bad for a smaller soft cover. The perforated pages are convenient for a lot of purposes but kind of undermine the sewn binding. Some of my pages are already separating at the bottom along the perforations. The paper is a nice cream color and the dot grid is clearly visible without being obtrusive. The grid is 5mm, thank goodness. You can use a ruler to count squares quickly, and the grid should be compatible with most accessories. There is a pocket in the back and there's an elastic to hold the book shut. It has two ribbon bookmarks. There's no pen loop 😭The pages didn't bleed with any of my regular pens but they did ghost with literally everything I used (mostly Frixion pens, Frixion highlighters and Mildliners). Literally everything, even light colors, leaves a shadow on the next page. These are solid books but they could be better.

Pros
  • The dotted bullet journal provides endless creative possibilities for both writing and artwork.
Cons
  • May not have enough pages for some users' needs
