My wife bought this to inspire me to start sausage making at home. So far we have made two batches and are already planning the next batches. Great for chopping meat. Also, all the parts are metal, so I put it in the freezer for about 20 minutes to make sure it's cold. (Recommended). The sausage filler worked too. But it didn't work as smoothly as a meat grinder. I will probably buy fillings in the future. Cleaning is not easy. However, this grinder didn't turn out to be any heavier than the others. They provide a brush which is very helpful. But I also used the ones my wife got from the register. We shredded and stuffed two different types of sausage (Polish and Italian) and both were better than store bought. I recommend this if you don't make a lot of sausage. He approaches Kitchenaide as he should. Has worked as it should. But it is not intended for larger projects
