Given their cost and intended use as trailer locks I thought they would be more weather resistant. I received these locks yesterday and installed them on my trailer. I live in Colorado and it has snowed several times in the past few days. Last night I drove a total of about 20 miles on moderately muddy roads with a trailer in tow. Opening the back door of the trailer today, I found that there was already a noticeable amount of rust and corrosion in the lock cylinder. The packaging even says "weatherproof"! The padlocks I used previously in the trailer were not outdoor padlocks and they show more weather resistance over a 2 month period than these trimax padlocks in one night! In addition, the lock cylinder is made of brass, which, being a softer metal, is very easy to drill out when used in locks. There is also no anti-drill protection on the lock. These locks would be very easy to bypass and no more secure than a cheap $8 master lock. I am sending them back as they are far from safe. The idea of an inner shaft is good, but pointless if the lock cylinder can be easily drilled out. They are NOT worth what they are worth.
