I researched kettles extensively, read their reviews, and finally decided on this little kettle. My main reason was its size, which is just right for my French Press when brewing coffee. It cooks very quickly - yes, it makes a little noise at the beginning of the cycle, but that's not critical. And yes, as someone pointed out, it shot. Surprise, surprise - don't put your hand on the metal, otherwise the metal will heat up! The only downside is not the kettle but my wrist and fingers (as they have developed arthritis) and the wide handle which is difficult to hold. Can't fault the kettle but a more comfortable handle design would have helped. In general, the purchase is very satisfied. New comment: It has been six months since I bought this teapot. It works perfectly and I am very happy with it. Comment one year after purchase: Kettle still works. I made a good purchase. It's now September 2013. I've been using it every day so it's been around 600 times since I bought it. As far as I know, no further advice is required.
