This mandrel finder was a fantastic idea. I have several older devices with LEDs showing the location of the spikes. This spike finder makes a clear sound when you are directly over the center of a spike. The digital readout allows you to visually see the edges of a pole or other obstacle as you slide down the wall. Simply press the square button on the front to turn on the device and press it again to switch to the mode you want. After selecting the mode you want, such as B. Hairpins, press the device against the wall and hold the left button until you hear a beep and the display fills. You can then release the button on the side and slowly slide the tool horizontally across the wall while holding it vertically. As you pass the studs you will see their designations on the display and hear a beep indicating the center. This is a great tool and I highly recommend it.
