Review on ๐Ÿงน Enhance Your Neato Cleaning Experience with the Neato Robotics Neato Botvac D Series Combo Brush by Justin Elmore

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product but the bearing fails quickly rendering the brush useless

I have to start with the pros because this is a great product. It removes all dog hair from our carpets and also works perfectly on hardwoods and laminates. Every time we empty a trash can, we're shocked at what it accumulates. It collects dirt and dust that we didn't even know existed. and we strive to keep the house as clean as possible. It's awesome. Unfortunately, the combination brush is known to be one of the first shortcomings of the Neato vacuum robots. That's how it was with us. Within 4 months the bearing on our original brush that came with our Neato was removed. We thought maybe it was because the original vacuum was stored in a warehouse or sat for a while. but when we replaced it with this OEM brush. and the same result. For the price it was disappointing. It seems too expensive to keep them in stock like filters. For us, brushes are typically rated for 60-80 uses or 60-80 hours over an area of 1,500mยฒ. ft. You will know this by the fact that the vacuum cleaner starts to work hard and you can clearly hear the brush starting to meet resistance. As a note, we clean the brush, tank, filters, etc. after each use. So it's not a maintenance/growth issue. So I'm a little confused as to how to rate this on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Power at 5, especially on hair. It's easy to clean. but only if you have an optional cleaning brush, sold separately. Which, in my opinion, should be included with every replacement of the suction brush. It's just a cheap plastic comb, but it makes a big difference. The fit/finish is a 5. The build quality (no bearing) is a 5 and it's holding up well. But the bearing used is minus 5. It just doesn't work fast and renders the entire brush useless. May I recommend it? Yes. Especially if the vacuum cleaner is only used occasionally and can push it back 6-8 months. I only wish they had upgraded the stock so we can get more out of every purchase.
