I have been in a love-hate relationship with NB for over 35 years. I did my best with the mighty 727s. So good that when the 828 was released (essentially a reissue of the 727 but in a different colour) I bought 10 pairs. I also got hurt by some terrible shoes from NB. So much so that I left NB for almost 10 years. But if they get it right, they become the best. For me, 1500v4 is just there. So far so good.1. They aren't too light which means they are durable. Don't get me wrong, they're not heavy, but they're not what I would expect from a "racing shoe". Btw I use this for my daily runs, I don't buy into all "just races" ads.2. Fits great. The shape of the shoe often seems to have been made for aliens. If it isn't, the curve is just right and the instep is in place, but not too loose. The 6° heel-toe difference is also very good.3. The lacing system is great, I don't even tighten them, just tie a loop and go. Elastic tongue sock provides a perfect fit for me.4. Why only 4 stars? The fit is a bit small, the weight is a bit high for a rider, but most importantly the outsole wears out very quickly right in the forefoot where the sole wraps around the toe. I've NEVER worn a sole here, but in about 50 miles (400 total) I'll be spacewalking. I need to put a small piece of shoe slime in there. I love these shoes. I'll be buying a few more, and when NB finally launches our v5 (which is so different from this one that it's unrecognizable) and the v4 goes on sale, I'll be buying as many pairs as I can find. Why don't they just change color? Why do you have to keep changing the whole design? Warning, you have a winner, stay tuned!
