1. If you have an oil leak and can't find the exact spot but it seems to be dripping from the oil filter. Do yourself a favor, secure your car on stands, climb up there with a towel and bright lights. Wipe off any oil where you can see it, around the filter and on the sides of the oil filter adapter. If you have someone have them start the engine and keep watching, if you see oil running down the side of the adapter then that's probably your problem. You need this gasket to fix the problem.2. It's easy to install for the most part. If you've got a Triton-powered Ford F150, though, it's not exactly a no-brainer. Just because of the way the engine fits in these trucks.3. You will need new oil, a new oil filter and coolant for this repair! My oil leak problem was not solved because of the filter but because of the gasket between the engine block and the oil filter adapter.
