Review on Yesker Teflon Sheet Transfer Limited by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Liquid will ooze through these sheets, but I've found a couple of clever uses for them.

Not for drying puree and leather, that's why I bought them. With some things the defect isn't as noticeable as with mashed potatoes, but yesterday I dehydrated canned corn mash. This morning I not only cleaned those sheets but also the screens and trays that were underneath. A sticky, sugary liquid (sweetcorn is rich in natural sugars) seeped through the bottom of each leaf, and after 12 hours of drying, the leaves and the sieve trays underneath were fully attached to the drying racks. Even after prolonged soaking in hot, soapy water, I had to rub the mesh screens vigorously to get the caked-on gunk out of all the holes. Not at all satisfied. However, there are several uses for them: 1. Dehydrating cooked or canned meat and fish (tuna, chicken, etc.), as well as ready meals that do not contain much liquid. Why? Because there is fat in all meat products and ready meals, which soils the trays you use. As they are cheap you don't care and you can reserve them just for that purpose. You can also use them to line the bottom of your dehydrator to catch drips when you're dehydrating something like beef jerky using just the mesh inserts. So you don't waste aluminum foil.3. For transferring small dried items into plastic bags and storage containers. One thing I've noticed is the issue with transferring dehydrated items into storage containers. It's a bit messy and I tend to end up with small pieces scattered across the counter and floor. Solution: Place one of these liners on the counter and hold a tray of dried treats in one hand and spread them onto this liner with the other hand. Lift the sides and pour into the container, holding the container in one hand and this assembled insert in the other. Like a flexible funnel. I was going to buy a flexible cutting board for this, but then realized these sheets would fit perfectly.4. Place one of these on the counter to act as a shelter when stacking dirty items like marinated jerky on top of the dehydrator trays. Unless you're very slow, the liquid won't last long enough to seep through and you won't have to clean the counter.

Pros
  • USER FRIENDLY: Thanks to the non-stick coating, it is easy to clean even after use. .
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
