Overall, this product is a worthy replacement. This problem is related to the rigidity of the wiring. The new lamp assembly does not have a power connector. It just ends with a stripped wire. You will need to reuse the power connector (cut the old one and connect it to the lamp end of the new assembly) or BUY a new adapter this will work more like a PITA than it needs to be. I just removed and reused the existing wiring harness and bulb. It's easy to do. A warning. this has nothing to do with this product. The rear bumper makes it difficult to remove and install the two screws in the license plate bracket. Get the right tools in advance. A 7mm flat socket and a hand held hex screwdriver to rotate the head at an angle.
