I have to say they are a lot bigger than I expected which actually wasn't great for me as I thought them for a smaller pool but I did other cymbals and I am satisfied Given the quality and value for money, I expected much less. I had to repeat the cooking because I didn't want to overdo it and remove the tannins just to sanitize them. And so I was still biofilming and had to be removed and boiled again. From what I've read, biofilm isn't really a problem and can repair itself over time, but I didn't like the way it looked. I can't say anything about tanning agents, as I also bought some leaves for this purpose. Although I couldn't use it for my original purpose (looks like tiny trees in a very small tank) I'm still very happy with it, in fact I can now use one in each of 3 smaller tanks (1 gallon, 3 gallon). , and 5 gallons)
