Review on 🔧 U120LFA SharkBite Straight Connector Plumbing Fitting - Push-to-Connect, PEX, Copper, CPVC, HDPE, 1/2 Inch x Threaded 1/2 Inch MNPT by Paulo Heisler

I'm not a plumber and while PEX slings really like these Shark Bite fittings I've seen them used with copper slings for years. The leaks/faults I've seen on them are usually related to the condition of the pipe end during installation. Some errors were caused by misalignment of the tube/fitting assembly, or the tube was installed at an angle leaving a gap on one side of the o-ring. As long as the cut is clean and all surfaces are smooth, the bite will last. (Sharp edges and burrs can scratch the ring.) If a contact surface of the copper end has any imperfections, it will not form a durable or perhaps even watertight O-ring seal. I used a hand file and 220 grit wet/dry sandpaper to prepare the copper for attachment.
