I have horrible trouble finding boots that fit, or I might say that I can get into at all. I have a high instep & many boots just don't allow my foot to make the turn from going down to going horizontal. These boots are great! I have no trouble making that turn. They aren't lined with any fur like material or anything puffy but that's what can give me problems. I did order a size up, but that's what I usually have to do to get into a boot. In these, I have room for heavy socks & probably would still have had that room if I'd ordered to my shoe size. I often need a W width, but these boots fit with room to spare at average width. The zipper makes getting them on & off a breeze. The zippered pouch is roomy enough for some paper money, ID & some coins. Anything else (like lip balm) would be a stretch, but there is a pouch on each boot, so you can be creative. The color (I got beige) is true to what is shown. The laces allow you to adjust your fit, but I can't see anyone using the laces to get the boot on & off. There is a heel, but you don't really feel it as a heel & it doesn't make the boot wobbly. These are good, dependable boots.1/20/19- I noticed some people had problems with the boot. I did apply 2 coats of a water repellant for shoes, specifically addressing the seams & did not treat them as work boots. If you want a boot that will stand up to long periods in wet conditions, look for a boot without seems, usually referred to as a rain boot. These are great for going out on an icy or snowy walk or to clear a small snowfall if you give them a coat or 2 of water repellant spray.
