I chose this set based on price, needle size and body. Compared to interchangeable matches I've found the following: Pros: - Less expensive - Comes with a case - More variety (looks like most packs only reduce the number of sticks by 4) Cons: - The cord isn't so flexible, making it difficult to maneuver - The area where the metal connects the cable won't wash out, and so the yarn will snag every time you try to put your work back on the needles. This is really frustrating, especially when working with softer or fluffier yarns. (Knitting is better for this problem) - Needles are not suitable for every braid. You have to shop around and try different ones before you figure out which needle goes with which cable. Breaking of small needles only happens with small wooden objects. I broke my first knitting needle while sitting on it on the couch. You just have to be careful because they are fragile. I'm sure these would break under similar circumstances.
