Review on ๐ŸŒฒ Discover the Wilderness with FOREST PILOT 3 Pieces Detachable Hardwood Walking Stick Pine Handle with Compass (Nature Color, 55 Inches, 1 Piece) by Vashod Reed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought to take on the plane.

The trekking pole is very important to maintain balance on the descent and allows the shoulders to separate the work of the legs on the ascent, making climbing easier. I bought this because I love the look of a wooden stick and wanted something I can take on a plane. So the foldable walking stick was made to order. There is an option for a 48-inch or 55-inch blade; 48" is a standard size, while 55" is probably more suitable for a taller person (6ft+); at 5'10" a 55" stick may be too tall, but so far it has proven to be sufficient and acceptable. It has three sections; If you take out the middle section and put the 1st and 3rd sections together, you get a standard size (36 3/4 inch) reed which is good to have. Don't underestimate how useful a walking stick can be for relief. when crossing streams, walking on boulders or dead trees crossing a stream to facilitate walking on steep slopes, such as the Grand Canyon Bright Angel Trail, or descending the steep Grand Canyon South Kaibab Trail. And let's face it, as people get older the balance really gets out of whack, I don't know why, and a cane or cane can come in handy. I've used it about 5 times now on long hikes and it's been satisfactory although it seems like it will need tightening after a few days as the straps become loose.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • I say nothing
