Installation. We followed the installation of the video pretty closely. Medium camera mount as .

I recently upgraded to a 2013 Avalon without a backup camera. The camera quality is what I expected from a 2012 Camry with a factory rear camera. Picture quality suffers at night, like my Camry, so nothing to worry about. This is a lifesaver when parking at an angle downtown or exiting the driveway. Installation took us (two guys - one experienced in installing equipment, one just an errand boy) about an hour and twenty minutes to install. Most of the work consists of removing the door panels and dismantling the dashboard. Tools required - a set of sockets (deep and shallow), electrical tape, side dams, wire (butt) joints, a tow cable or a home-made towing device. Don't buy any extra tools as we had most of the tools for dragging panels and dashboards. I used the plastic tool that came with the kit and it worked for the dash. Installation. We followed the installation of the video pretty closely. Centering the camera as suggested in the video worked great as a small area between the beacons is already marked for this. We used clamps under the trunk lid to feed cables through instead of zip ties. We used zip ties under the dash and cut them off. We used a butt connector to connect the power supplies (red wires) together. Electrical Cover both yellow video connectors with electrical tape to prevent future disconnection problems. Tips: 1.) The Avalon has a light that illuminates the storage space under the stereo (in front of the counter). This article just pops up. off, do not attempt to remove the small clip as this is a light and you must turn it off after removing the panel. 2.) There is a place to run a cable from the trunk to the back seat. It looks like it's a sealed trunk, but it has a 3-4 inch rubber grommet for cable access that you can pull through. cut off the right part. Take your time and watch the video before you begin and keep it handy during installation. The video can be found on their website.
