I'm a network engineer, so I'm also concerned about my home network. I bought this because I needed a switch on my On-Q panel and didn't want to make things up. I'm glad I spent the money but I'm aware that it doesn't make sense to most people and that I paid too much for what I got. This is a regular 10/100/1000Mbps switch. No fancy features other than it fits nicely in the On-Q mount.
