Review on πŸ–οΈ Koh-I-Noor Progresso Woodless Colored Pencil Set - Assorted Colors, Pack of 12 (FA8756.12) by Denise Davis

Great pencils for the serious artist

These are simple beautiful colored pencils and they work so smoothly. You don't get much waste with all that wood surrounding the colored parts, although it does make it a little more pressure sensitive, but not enough to be a deal breaker. I bought this as a reward for a student who is earning points. (I work at a special education center for high school girls and incentive awards are often great for those who have organizational difficulties. This student is a gifted artist and cannot afford art supplies, so these are my awards based on my experience with products I I've used it before, like this one.) It comes in lovely little packaging, but one that can go bad over time. I really wish it came in a small tin that was more durable as it's best to carry around for "dotted" sketching and the current packaging just isn't strong enough for that. But the pens are great - and I'm a big fan of art pencils without wood, graphite, charcoal, anything I can find without wood. It just takes longer. A great addition to these wooden pencils would be a Koh-I-Noor pencil extender. It's right here at Revain and fits really well, extending the life and use of small short pencils.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for seniors
