Others have mentioned this (either this product or something similar), but it really needs a different axis of adjustment. Modern windshields can have quite a bit of lateral curvature, and unless you place the detector in the dead center (left-right) it can "steer" inward from the road, resulting in poor visibility both forward and backward leads. It's not always possible (or safe to see) to place it in a blind spot, so having it a little away from the rearview mirror is ideal, but then the line-of-sight angle changes too much. A shame. , because it's otherwise a very solid (albeit a bit large) mount; Horizontal adjustment was critical for my Toyota FJ Cruiser, which has a very steep (closer to vertical) angle, which makes it impossible to use my Escort detector's butt mount without bending it (which would then be wrong for my sports car, the at an acute angle to the windshield.
