Review on Renewed HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset with Dual Chamber Drivers and Detachable Microphone for PC, PS4, PS4 PRO, Xbox One, and Xbox One S. by Guanyin Lin ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

I got it for a nice price (less than 7000r), I originally planned to take Cloud Core, but for the difference of 1500r I decided to take the "alpha" and, in general, I'm satisfied, but: I personally don’t need volume control on the wire and, as a result, it interferes - in the end I solved the issue with two folded pieces of paper in the corners of the wheel and wrapped with black electrical tape. There is a serious jamb with the fabric braid of the wire - the "microphone effect", i. E. when the wire rubs against clothes or even the upholstery of a chair - all this is "translated" into the headphones, it was also decided to wrap it with electrical tape. The hole for the microphone also had to be sealed so that it would not collect dust - it is not clear why they abandoned the rubber plug in the kit. As a result, the main drawback is the need to engage in ing in a headset from a completely non-budget price segment, so I have the following request to HyperX: release a replaceable wire in a regular, rubber braid and without a volume control - I'm ready to spend money on this, and not sit with a wire wrapped with electrical tape. In all other respects, the headset just works great in tandem with the Xonar DX.

Pros
  • Dual-chamber speakers, durable construction, detachable cables, head-mounted fit, microphone and detachable, cable management, sound for both games and music
Cons
  • Volume control on the wire, wire braid, no microphone plug (was in previous models)
