Definitely not 16 gauge wire
Wire is fine as long as thin gauge wire can be used. But it's not 16 gauge wire. Anywhere between 18 and 20 gauge. Keep that in mind as it won't carry the required current if you really need 16 gauge wire. I didn't send it back as it was fine for my work.
