Difficult to adjust / burnt rope

Works and is strong but I'm not a big fan. The locking clip is very difficult to move and I burned my fingers with a rope trying to adjust it. I'm also concerned about my hands getting stiff when walking, although leashes are best for walking dogs! You would have a hard time with an untrained dog because the pulling takes forever. I hope it gets easier with time and maybe it's just stiff because it's new? At the same time, I don't want him to relax too much. I will update the information in a few weeks after leaving with my clients.
