I bought these pants for the added protection of the Kevlar lining and was very pleasantly surprised with both the fit and comfort. I wear a 34 inch waist in my regular jeans and ordered the same with these and they fit perfectly. Kevlar lining is not too warm and not abrasive. The pockets are deep enough, as are the back pockets. I can't speak about crash durability, and I hope I never can. Haven't tried them with pads and probably won't as I'm very happy with the fit and feel without them. For those who want Kevlar protective pants that look and feel like regular everyday jeans, this is the product for you.
