I'm a sound snob/audiophile to begin with. I use this speaker for the center channel in my family room to achieve 5.1 without detracting from the aesthetics of the room - hence the lack of a large JBL or Mirage center channel speaker. Once installed and turning on the center channel on the receiver, this speaker immediately raised the soundstage to TV level (ie above the mantelpiece). This is to be expected given it's ceiling mounted, but when it's at an angle, even 20ft backwards, it appears to be pointing straight at you. The vocals are clean and smooth and blend in really well with the rest of the system. I think the silk dome tweeter along with the appropriately sized woofers and crossover helps the voices sound natural and allows the speaker to do its job really well.
