Speedometer working again

I have replaced this part on two separate Mercury residents. The first van had a good old speedometer dial on the dashboard that suddenly reset to zero. If you stopped the car and put it in park and then back on the engine, it would sometimes come back. Also, the cruise control would turn off and not turn on until you parked the car and then turned it back on. The second one I replaced was in a van with a digital dash (that's the closest thing to a Nightrider I've ever driven). The speedometer showed random speeds from 1 to 80 mph as you drove. Both transporters behaved correctly after installing this speed sensor. After installation, both vans received a functional cruise control and an odometer function again. The sensor is located on the gearbox in such a way that the best way to reach it is to place the transporter on the ramps and work directly behind the driver's wheel by reaching up. It seems that this was the heart of the car.

  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
