Here are my impressions after the first 75 miles in the field: 1) The brakes work much better than I expected based on other reviews. You are really very good. The included pads fit snugly into my existing calipers and work almost seamlessly. I haven't tried them wet yet, so I can't comment on that. I had brake squeal a couple of times on my first ride, but today, having driven 50 miles, there was no squeak. 2) The wheels were very precise, the spokes were tight, right out of the box. After my initial ride time, the wheels are still correct. 3) I had to adjust the brakes for a wider rim. The old discs were 23mm, so I had to let go of the calipers a bit. 4) I had to buy tubes with 80mm rods. They fit just right. I would stay away from extension cords to avoid leaks. 5) The clearance on older bikes like mine is small but they fit. I use 25mm Gatorskin tires and love how the combo works together. Looking down from my handlebars, the tire and rim form an almost perfect oval with no bulges. 6) Leave the nuts on the Presta bars. they thunder. 7) The wheels feel like a quality product in the hand. The edges are clean, the finish is smooth and even, and everything is very durable. 8) Riding a bike feels very controlled. 9) The free shell is quite noisy, but that doesn't bother me. 10) U Shape These discs seem to be taken from famous discs, so they look modern. 11) I could be a bit faster on these wheels. On my first ride, I averaged 17.5 mph over 27 miles. My second ride was with a group and we did 45 miles at 18 mph. But I caught a cold this week, so maybe next week will be even better. Overall I am completely satisfied with this purchase. I'll update this review if anything changes, but for now I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a solid upgrade. The last thing to mention is that there are actually actual reviews for these wheels, which is why I went with them. I find it a bit odd when a rim has one rating PER YEAR for the last five years but 5 stars. However.
