I've had this toaster for about 3 weeks now so can't comment on durability but so far I'm very satisfied. The first few times you use it, you will notice an unpleasant odor. If you read the directions, the manufacturer suggests doing three toast cycles with an empty one to get rid of the smell, and it really works. On the third trial use, I found that the smell was almost non-existent. The bagel setting works like a charm. It took me a few times to find the setting to roast them the way I like them, but it's been right every time since. I had a particularly thick bagel that got stuck, but I used the extra lift feature and got it out without too much trouble. I've also used it for English muffins and had no problems with it. I love that you can tuck the cord under the toaster when not in use - it's a lot better than dangling the cord when storing. Nice feature that I wouldn't look for. It will be a little warm when used outside. Not hot and wouldn't burn your hand, but definitely not "cold to the touch" either. Overall I am very satisfied and I hope that I will have this toaster for a long time. If it comes out sooner I will update this review.
