weak plastic for automotive and automotive electronics

I knew it was fragile from the start and handled it very carefully but one of the tabs holding it in place broke on top. When I finished soldering the wire harness I came back and one of the screws holding the two halves together broke. I don't know how it broke, I put it very carefully on a piece of styrofoam. Maybe it's just bad plastic. Doubts about return or repair
