Review on MB Stone Care Granite Polish by Scott Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used it to etch a mug which left a ring and a few dark spots

I had two ring marks on my granite countertop (actually dolomite) near the sink where we put the mug or glass have left. I have researched this and read that this is called etching and the result of this is that something acidic is left on the countertop. Next to it were three dark spots. I used the hog pad advertised with the dual action polisher. I followed the directions and on the first pass I used setting 3 on my porter polisher (it goes from 1 to 6). After cleaning, everything stayed in place. It was of no use. In my head I thought I wasted a total of $50. I figured I'd try again with higher settings, afraid I might leave swirling tracks. I increased the speed to 5, applied more pressure and let it dry a bit. End result: no trace of rings or dark spots. They're all gone. I wish the item was a little cheaper. As for the brilliance, I didn't see anything special; it looked the same, but my countertops are less than a year old. If you want to remove etching and stains, you can try this product. This worked for me.
