Used this Transcend SD card reader intermittently for several years. I noticed that my SD cards were generating errors, and when I finally got around to running some tests, I noticed how dangerously hot the adapter was. I always thought the cards were the problem until I replaced them with a Satechi USB-C UHS. - II readers. the difference was day and night. Previously "bad" cards have been tested well, and in intense testing have been able to work for more than 5 hours without even feeling warm. It's now too old to be refunded, so it goes in the trash before it does any real damage and possibly a fire. . Avoid at all costs.
