Review on ๐Ÿšด LEZYNE Portable Bicycle Chain Repair Tool - High-Quality Steel Chain Breaker and Joiner for Mountain and Road Bikes by Ashwin Patel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An almost perfect mini tool for chain work.

I decided to pay a little more than the $5 version, which doesn't suit many, and I'm glad I made the right choice. The stool is small and well made. I'm just a little disappointed that the stylus goes straight down but isn't far enough off center to be inoperable. Before working on the new chain I practiced disconnecting and reconnecting the old chain and it's so simple and easy. For those who need to remove multiple links, try removing a link first so you know how it works and feel comfortable, especially if you have to leave the pin in place when you don't have the main link. The hidden built-in wrench is very good. I was able to adjust the rim of my wife's bike so that it rolls straight and evenly through the brake pads. Tip: When I put the links back together, I noticed that the links were stiff at this point. I also made sure the ends of the pins were open equally on both sides, but that didn't help. Further observations showed that when the pin was pressed to connect the chain, the parts of the outer link collided with each other, causing friction. The final adjustment is to hang the outside of the link on the tool's upper platform and push the pin down a bit to open the gap. You must repeat on both sides. I have also uploaded photos to illustrate my point. 10/06/2014: Revain doesn't seem to allow uploading photos anymore.
