Review on πŸ”‡ Eliminate Ground Loop Noise with JABINCO Ground Loop Isolator for Car Audio/Home Stereo System – Includes 3.5mm Audio Cable (Black) by Kevin Apriando

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worthy for the price. Just throw away the cable.

This is a ground loop isolator that appears to be implemented here as a fully passive AC transformer. Pros: - Significantly reduces audio interference from the ground loop to the point where it's invisible in a car - Cheapest available at the time of writing (April 2021) Cons: - The cable that came with my unit somehow made it noticeably and degraded the sound quality. None of them: - Although the transformer windings are assumed to be 1:1, there is still a noticeable drop in volume - Needless to say, the sound quality associated with this will degrade somewhat. Here, too, I am almost impressed how terrible the included audio cable was. OEMs tend to include the cheapest cables in their products. but of the literally hundreds I've encountered over the years, very, very few were bad enough to be noticeably worse. The device itself is fine. When I placed it between some OK headphones and a headphone amp, the volume dropped, but nothing else was noticeable. While I'm sure there will be a loss in sound quality, there's no way I'd notice it for my in-car use case, and that's about all I need. but otherwise there was nothing to see.
