That's a great idea and looks nice, but the fan doesn't do much to cool the drives; they get very hot. If you remove the top and feel the hard drive spin for a while, you can only put your finger on it for about 3 seconds before you burn your finger. The space underneath for a fan is literally too small for any airflow. The fan isn't very loud as many have said in their reviews, it all comes down to personal preference. .If this case was made for real cooling it would be worth the price, now I feel like it acts more like insulation and keeps the heat inside. I'll probably keep it as I only use it as a backup drive and a drive that isn't used very often. If you're using it for more than just storage or backup, you might want to consider something else.
