The smell was overpowering for about 3 weeks
This was a nice little extra shelf to add to my daughter's Minnie Mouse decor but the smell once it came in was unbearable. Later I tried reading other reviews to see if anyone had the same thing and what they did to get rid of it but only one complained. I have used Lysol wipes and spray but to no avail. I tried the Febreze spray again but it didn't help. I couldn't use soap and water because farley wood is cheap and will destroy the shelf before it can enjoy it. I had to take it out of her room (she's only 4) and let the smell wear off, which took about 3 weeks.
