Review on Design Engineering 010450 Titanium Shield by Daniel Steele

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked as expected 6 " x 1ft

I bought these to protect my new airbags under my RV (W22). The old airbags were swollen and leaking air because they were near the exhaust. I installed them to protect the replacement airbags. Installation was easy but takes time. I just put zip ties around the pipes and moved them to where they should be and tightened them. I had no issues with the rivets or the material, both seemed pretty solid even when pushed and pulled to get them in place. The first ride was 475 miles one way through the Florida heat and the Highway, there were no odors or problems with heat from the airbag. I believe most of the negative reviews are about motorcycle setups. A wrapper might be better suited for this task. If you tighten them and the edge touches the object before the clamp is tightened, I think the rivets have ripped out. Either use a smaller clamp or don't buy one unless you have the leeway to tighten it. You must consider kickback distance and material thickness to know if they are right for your application.

Pros
  • Protects heat sensitive components, hoses, plumbing and electrical wiring
Cons
  • Interval
