I originally used this to ease access to my multiport USB hub - some thumb drives are "tall" and others are "short" - clumsy fingers can't always get the disk out without pressing the rest 100% of the time. Plus, getting to the back ports on a PC is always fun. Plug in those tiny nano receivers or small USB sticks. good luck getting them out. Let small cables fray with everyday plugging/unplugging while protecting the connectors themselves. Finally, there are devices that come with "USB extension cablesโ that are far too long. The best analogy is trying to hang a phone on the wall (yes, a landline) and only have a three-foot phone cordโplenty of wiggle room. When you need a little extension without tying up 5 1/2 feet of slack, these 6 inch cables are the way to go. Finally. Price. Very good price for four of them. UPDATE: Another IMPORTANT use of these little cables. Help out with over-temp USB drives like The Finger-Crispin' Good Sandisk Mini-USB3 128GB Drive. (As of 2016, after 30 day return period) Used Samsung mini USB3 128G drive and just replaced with Sandisk mini USB3 128G drive with Cables to Go dual port USB hub. The temperature of the concentrator was amazing - 105 degrees. . Almost like something. it overheats. Plug one of the two devices (guess which one?) into a small power strip to move it "further" away from the hub. The hub temperature is now 84 degrees. Great improvement after 105 degrees. Since I have FOUR mini USB3 sticks from Sandisk (sigh), I ordered a few more of these cables.
