The charger itself is a nice metal construction and the cord is strong, braided and overall looks like it costs three times its $15 price tag. The new Note 8 charges at around 1 percent per minute, which is an excellent charge rate for a car charger. Even if your phone is dead dead and you have to hit the road with the phone off and a 20-minute drive, you can still get a 25-30 per cent charge, enough to get you through a dinner party or a low-powered show. Mode. For normal everyday needs, this is more than a maintenance charger and will keep your phone well charged while driving around town or on vacation. These numbers are achieved with ONE connected device as I have not tested it with two. When I need a second device to charge, I usually use a real cigarette lighter in which I have a flush mount charger installed. If there's a downside for some, it's that the charger isn't a hidden mount - it protrudes subtly from the power port. Now it's not a big deal to me - my power connector is in my armrest, so the fact that it sticks out is an advantage anyway - but if yours is dash mounted the look might suit you too. Personally, given that the color matches my car's finish, I'd like the look and profile of the charger to complement that, even if my port is on the dash. Whatever the case, the colored cable coming out of the armrest is red and black that goes perfectly with the red color and black with red accents inside my SRT charger - looks like a million bucks indeed. Another notable feature is that both connectors are illuminated bright yellow, making it easy to find where to plug it in when driving in the dark. Not my favorite color and to be honest if my connector was dash mounted I might look for another charger that glows a different color but if that doesn't make a huge difference to you then this would definitely tick all the boxes. Overall, I think this is the best buy considering the performance of the chargers, the quality, and the inclusion of the $15 cable and charger, which cost between $17 and $20 if you buy separately.
