We purchased this item to ship three bikes from Illinois to Florida. Installation was easy and the stand is not very heavy making it easy to move, put on and take off the car. Unfortunately, the stretch bars don't have a stopper at the end that would allow the bikes to slip off the carrier. Luckily we have bungee cords with us in case the bikes slip, but we didn't want to stack the bikes together to make sure they stay in place. During an hour's drive on the interstate, one of the bikes slid halfway off the rack and hung vertically from one of the crossbars. unless you're willing to assemble your bikes and secure them with straps or elastic cords (risking lots of scratches on the frame). It is better to note that the luggage rack tilts when you need to open the trunk and leave the luggage rack on your car.
