We bought this for our chicken coop - it gives the girls some light at night and we don't have to worry about turning it on and off or changing the light. batteries every 2 days. It turns on and glows as the sun rises and sets - Sony AA batteries last about a month. The battery compartment slides in easily with a clip (no screws required), and there's an on/off switch if you don't want to turn it on. If ours ever dies, I'll definitely take another one like hers. It would be nice to decorate the window for Christmas or all year round. Very rural, with a touch of rusticity.
