as announced. Although it's a laboratory tool, it's also great for the kitchen. The speaking aspect was necessary for blind people and it works great. The countdown is correct, the last 10 seconds are counted down to the second. The ability to select different alarm types is much appreciated as all other devices in the kitchen seem to be using the same sound. We chose the car horn and it really grabs your attention amidst the din of other sounds. As far as I could find, this is the only timer with such useful features.
