I'm 5'4" and about 150-155 lbs. I ordered a size up and they fit me perfectly. Nice and tight at the top but not restrictive. but soft but durable strap the same materials as the rest of the pants. They have ankle flares but that's what I wanted. They are NOT too long for me! (hooray!) the top of my shoes. The pocket is small but good for my little phone to wear between jobs.The material is not see-through but is light enough that I think they would be ideal for work in the hot summer months.I haven't washed them yet but nothing about the material or the stitching leads me to believe that this will be a problem.I will wash gently in cold water,line dry and then tumble dry low.I am ordering another pair of granite now.
