This kettle worked well and met our needs. We found the range of teapots to be overwhelming and it takes a long time to review all the products. Prices were much higher than expected and we paid more than expected for this kettle. This teapot is very simple, but successfully combines all our criteria: a) a small teapot (2.2 liters); b) Spout lock built into the handle of the kettle; c) a cool handle when the kettle is hot; d) You can fill the kettle through the spout; and e) the timeless design is not flashy but looks comfortable on our stove. Note: The whistle is normal, but loud enough to send me back to the kitchen.
