No worse than theirs

I will preface this review with the following warning: car refrigerators are not refrigerators. You will keep cold with help cold. My husband drives a truck 12-16 hours a day. He never stops, so I pack his lunch every day. He carries around water, energy drinks, vegetables, sandwiches, sometimes pizza, etc. He used a Rubbermaid refrigerator for a long time, but it was too small. He needed a larger cooler that would fit between the truck seats and provide more space. This cooler is HUGE. They make two smaller ones but since I like to load it up with large ice packs this is a good size. However, it will never be truly complete unless we take it on a journey. It fits 2 liter bottles and I'm guessing six of those will fit. I load it up with 2 1.5 liter bottles of water, some 16oz low carb Monster drinks plus a sandwich, cherry tomato fruit and other snacks and the fridge is still about half full, myself with 2 large blue bags of ice. Koolatron does the job wonderfully. It doesn't cool warm things well and if left alone cold things will start to warm up after 8-10 hours so I put 2 large blue ice packs in the fridge every morning and they come back at night still partially frozen. . Any leftover drinks are still cold. I also bought an inverter so I can connect the cooler first thing when I get up. Then I load up the fridge and ice packs just before he leaves. That helps a lot. Can the cooler withstand temperatures of 40*? Doubtful, but it keeps them cold enough for drinks to be refreshing and food not to spoil. It keeps the truck's air conditioning on all the time, so the radiator doesn't have to run too hard. A soft-walled cooler like this isn't as efficient as a hard-walled cooler, so there's a small trade-off, but this is the biggest I could find that would fit where it should have (between the seats of the Peterbilt daycab afterwards ). Remove the cup holder) and it's easy. The shoulder strap makes it easy to carry. When I load it up with a few gallons of water, drinks, and ice, and use the bungee cord on top for the paperwork, it weighs about 30 pounds or so. A rigid refrigerator would be impossible. The outside pockets come in handy, you can even put ice in the cup holder (which only holds a cup the size of a soda can). There is a mesh pocket on the back which is also very handy. Overall we are very happy with this cooler, but unlike the other reviewers, our expectations were more realistic.
