Review on πŸ”§ Mastech MS8229 Auto-Ranging Multi-functional Digital Multimeter: 5-in-1 Tool by Hassan Barrera

Didn't live up to my expectations

I really like this multimeter. It rattles a bit inside and I don't want to damage it when trying to open and find it. When received, the fuse is blown. Everything else works and it's a very good counter. It just doesn't live up to what I would expect from something at this price point. Edit: I replaced the fuse and now everything works. I bent the little metal holders for it and the rattle seems to be gone. I was trying to check how many amps my train model was drawing and during that time the meter would cycle on and off when it shouldn't. It even did this when I measured the voltage at my household outlets. I removed the back cover and think it might be a loose battery for some reason. I'll try to put some foam on top to hold them in place with pressure when the lid is on. In general I would say that everything is fine. I believe this is much more accurate than my old meter which was about 10 volts lower than the new meter when tested. I will keep using it and see how well it holds up.
