Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Somchai Somchai ᠌

It is better not to buy it, the product is not what it should be.

After a little acquaintance with this lens, I personally didn’t understand why it was needed? This Canon EF 50 mm lens is a complete copy of the Canon EF-S 18-55mm (this is the standard option that almost every new camera comes with), with some exceptions for the Worse, namely the EF 50 mm is clearly louder in the motor and has no zoom and stabilizer. "The EF 50 mm has a large aperture" - you say, but with this alleged plus, in poor lighting it smears at the slightest shudder of the hand and autofocus catches the target every other time, there are a lot of reviews about this. This lens also does not like contrast in lighting, it darkens the whole picture, try, for example, to take a picture of something in a darkened room under the light of a lamp. Otherwise, it is completely identical to the Kit 18-55, which has a stabilizer and it helps out better than the aperture ratio of 50s. It turns out 50 is worse than 18-55 of the simplest from Canon, which is also cheaper :) Do not believe the laudatory reviews, take a whale lens with you to the store and compare the photos from it and with the "vaunted" 50 Koi - you will not see the difference, why pay twice? :)

Pros
  • no obvious
Cons
  • does not catch autofocus well, the motor makes a loud noise, flimsy design
